Five things to remember when doing a play assessment at home
- Create a well-arranged and visually pleasing home play space.
- A play assessment can be completed between two back-to-back days or within the same week.
- All toys provided should be age-appropriate, at your child's developmental level and open-ended.
- Don't prompt your child to show a skill, try to let them show it naturally.
- Ensure that toys are: easy to use, can be used independently, allow creative expression, are safe and cognitively rich.
